This kit is for hand stitching leather. Hand stitching leather takes time and allows for the creation of unique creations. The basics of use are, find or design a pattern, cut the pattern, dye the leather, punch and stitch.
There are many excellent patterns available on Etsy or Youtube. If you search for “leather pattern” + item name you can quickly pick out an option is close to your goal. You can also draft your own patterns by hand, or using a combination of 3d modeling and layout software. Such as Blender and Pepakura. Starting out, learning from an existing pattern can help jump start your understanding of the media. Be sure to spend some time experimenting too with patterns and materials. There will be things you discover which are unique to your design sense.
